The main benefit of selling your home as a for sale by owner without a realtor, is that you're not going to pay real estate commission to a realtor. Typically, in a real estate contract in Florida, the commission is 6% and is paid by the seller. Since you're not going to have a realtor, then you're not going to pay that at closing.

 

However, that means that you're going to have to come and step into the function of the realtor and do all the things that a realtor normally do. Most importantly, find a buyer and fill out the contract with you. That is the main benefit is you're not going to pay a real estate commission.
